Been trying for a long time to find my wifes Grandparents. Named Robinson and living in Barrow on Humber, around 1880 to 1920. They died when my father in law, Richard. Blissit. Robinson was very young. We have sussed his birth to approximately 17th September 1911 as he married my wifes mother in 1931. A guess would make him about 20 to maybe 22 years old at that time. It is very important to us to locate these Grandparents as they hold the key to any further progress, ie Great Grandparents, Uncles and Aunts. etc. Can anyone help us get started on this seemingly impossible trail? Thanks Walt

Richard's marriage cert would give his father's name and occupation, to confirm any birth or census findings.

What wonderful People you all are. Honest! My wife is in tears as she reads the facts aboutr these loved ones that we knew so little about. Thanks to 'Safc' for the input. Thanks again to 'Potty' who has got it absolutely right. Albert and Amy Elizabeth are her Grandparents. Thats for sure and the children, Annie Elizabeth. William and Richard Blissett. There could be no mistake about this. Sorry 'Potty' you dis so much work there, but sadly you have got the wrong ones. We have so much wonderful material here because of your efforts and hope that this will now lead us to finding out how and why Albert and Amy died so young, leaving the children to be shipped off to relatives somewhere, untill they could fend for themselves. Wonderful people. Babs and I love you all so much for all that you have done for us. Maybe one day we shall become as eficient at finding people as you, all of you, most definitely are. Thank you. Walt

Hi Mike. Many thanks for the aditional information, though it has confused us somewhat. Firstly, my wife had no idea as to there being another child. She always knew that she had an Aunty Annie, an Uncle Bill (William) but no one ever mentioned an Uncle George. Is it possible that he was not mentioned because he had died? I think Census's only took in those who were actually living and resident and the address.
The other thing that tends to confuse, is that you have listed George being Christened on 9th Jan 1898 and then later as being born in June 1898. That of course is five months after George was Christened. A typo perhaps? Very sad that this child died so young though. It has certainly given us food for thought. Thank you very much Mike, we appreciate your input. Regards to you and yours. Walt
