Hi,looking for any of decendants of the the brothers and sisters of Jane Robinson,who lived at Stockhow Hall,Lamplugh Cumberland in the 1860s and 70s.Her parents were Sarah and John Ellwood Robinson and siblings were Mary Ann, Matthew,Sarah,Margaret,John Ellwood, William Henry and Adam. Jane married Joseph Bell, apparently a worker on the estate and as a result was cast out of the family and moved to Seaton. According to the census of 1881 and 1901 some of the family stayed in Lamplugh but others returned to the area of their birth,Kirkby Stephen and one apparently owned what is now Lytham St Annes golf course. I would love to try and piece together more of this story and find out more of these ancestors.Jane is my great great Grandma.Any info would be fantastic,many thanks, Sarah |
