I am trying to trace birth of Gervase Robinson (I think he was born in Hook, Yorkshire about 1837). He married in Ireland to Mary Loughead in 1865. Gervase was a soldier in 5th Dragoon Guards. They had one son Jervis Fredrick Robinson in 1867 and a daughter (my grandmother) Elizabeth Jane Robinson born in Aldershot, Hants in 1868. I cannot find the family on 1881 census. My grandmother ended up in Hull where whe married my grandfather James Robert Gardiner in 1887. I cannot trace a death for Gervase either. Any help would be appreciated. I Know Gervase Father was a William Robinson occupation labourer and on 1881 census there is a William living with a John and Elizabeth Robinson in Hull. I wonder is this John was Gervase's brother? William was born in Howden Yorkshire and John in Laxton, yorkshire both of these places are very near Hook. if anyone can help I would be most grateful. |
