Hello, I'm trying to find out more information about EDWARD ROBINSON, 1848-1892 from Leigh, Essex. He was a stevedore & died in a dockyard accident. Married FRANCES LEADER in 1846 and they had at least 4 children: Jane, Edward, Sophia, Lily (living in West Ham by now). From Census reports I believe Edward's mother was Rebecca Robinson, born 1833 (Leigh, Essex). Family say he was illegitimate, and that his father may have been an Irish Baronet, as Rebecca was a servant! Does anyone have any more info about Edward's family, did Rebecca go on to marry and have more children? I believe Rebecca's father was Joseph Robinson, c. 1799, Leigh. Any info? Thanks. |
