My name is Cheryl Ann Coleman (nee ROBINSON) I am trying to trace my father's family. He was Thomas William ROBINSON born 7th June 1922 in Bootle Liverpool, His father was Thomas Richard Robinson and his mother was Ann Jane JONES. They were living at 21 Sheridan Place, Bootle when my father was born. My Grandfather was in the British Merchant Navy (died during WW2) during active duty. My father was in the British Navy and met my mother in Australia. We returned to Bootle in 1949 and stayed with my grandmother who was living at 7 Virginia Street, Bootle. My father had two sisters Jean and Maureen. Maureen married Peter DAVID and had two children as far as I can remember. I have photos of my grandmother etc., also photos of a wedding of Freddie JONES who was a cousin of my fathers. If anyone can help with any members of the family please contact me. I know my grnadmother would not be alive but perhaps there are still other members of the vast ROBINSON, JONES and DAVID families that may be able to help me.

Surely there must be someone out there who knows my family. Could anyone perhaps tell me what happened to the families who lived in Virginia Street, Bootle. I know the street was extensively damaged during WW2, does anyone know where they were relocated too?? Please help

Hi Cheryl.

.
Alma O Robinson 1917 June qt West Derby mother Jones. Gro ref 8b 1061

Edna C Robinson 1915 June qt West Derby mother Jones gro ref 8b 1202.

Esmund T Robinson 1921 June qt West Derby mother Jones gro ref 8b 1195.

Iris C Robinson 1916 June qt West Derby mother Jones gro ref 8b 1114.

I have only got up to the Letter J so there could be more but I have to go now.

As for relocation during the war. It would depend which other houses were unoccupied. Building would have been restricted during the war years.

Have you tried looking at icnetwork.co.uk.
You will find Bootle Times. Perhaps you can get in touch with someone and ask about relocations during the war
