I am looking for information on the following brothers and sister of my Grandfather Leonard Robinson 1874-1939. (He worked as a foreman engineer on the G.E.R./L.N.E.R.) Brothers-William 1869-1930. Edmund/Stanley ?. Percival 1872-1917. Emily ?. Great Uncle Percy firstly was a engineer with the G.E.R. and then was in the Merchant Navy and R.N. as a Lieutenant Engineer, his ship H.M.S. Newmarket, went missing in the eastern Med in 1917. Percy lived for a time in 5 Fernlea Place, Harwich, and also 46 Philip Rd Ipswich. The family seem to have conections with enginering, and also lived in Stratford, London. Their parents lived I think, somewhere in Cambridgeshire or Suffolk about late 1860s I suppose, and might have been the subject of a scandal regarding a protestant/catholic marriage. |
