Find Ancestors

Hi Everyone

I am tracing back my family tree and have come to a halt at the moment, basically the above person was my grandma's first marriage and I need some details on him, these are what I have:

Name: Leonard Victor Rowley
Born: 1912? (Not too sure)
Place of Birth: Leicester? (Not too sure)
Married: Doris Barrows
Date of Marriage: in the 1940's (Not sure on dates)
Place of Marriage: Leicester
His Occupation: Tyre Balancer
Cause of Death: TB
Date of Death: 1940's (got to be in the 1940's because he was only married to my grandma for a short time)

I think you have the wrong name for Doris's husband. There is this marriage:-

The only reason why I have him down as Leonard Victor Rowley, is because that's the name on my mother's birth certificate...??

Can this be possible?

Perhaps he was known as Leonard for some reason - you can call yourself anything you like as long as it is not to defraud.

I can't find a birth of a daughter with surname Rowley and mother's maiden name Barrows???

My mother's name is:

Yvonne Sharon Rowley
Born: October 1961

I have her birth certificate right in front of me, that is strange you not finding it...

Can I just ask does everyone use this site for the record search, as I have only sign up for the £9.95 6 month membership and cannot access any records...

I didn't find your mother's birth because I was looking at the time when her mother was married - between 1946 and 1948. It is there in 1961.

I use Ancestry for searching for births, marriages and deaths.

It is not worth paying to search on Genes as they hold no records themselves - they just redirect you to other sites.
