Tried Lloyds list, CLIP, Hudson Bay CO. Everything! Can anyone help me find a crew list for "Kitty Of Newcastle" It sailed from London to Hudson Bay on the 25/6/1859 but wrecked in the Hudson Strait, 11 of the crew were murdered by Eskimos but 5 survived including a William Armstrong. The Captain was Alexander Ellis (Murdered). The ancestor involved is William Scott (also one of the murdered). I'd love the crew list to complete an amazing story that I would love to share. The Kitty's ship number may have been 1127 (this number belonged to a ship called Kitty which was built in Newcastle. |

The ship was taking cargo to the Hudson Bay Company, doesn't look like it was on a whaling mission. I wish I could find more about The other crew. I have 3 names that should be in some sort of records. The other is John Crosse Brooks, he built the ship. Wish there wasn't somany dead ends! |
