I am trying to find relatives of the above named.Born Veronica Hammond 1914 Sevenoaks Kent.Died 1982 Registered York district.
She was married to Norman Ingram,Tonbridge,Kent in the 1930s.Believe that they didnt divorce, but she changed her name after their seperation. She had a daughter Yvonne born 1934.But she left home when Yvonne was still a baby.Would love to know if she had any more children after yvonne as these would be Yvonnes half siblings.Yvonne is my mother and Veronica would have been my grandmother. Thanks Jacqui

Where does Scott come in? Surely if she was born Veronica Coralie Estelle Hammond, as I can see she was, wouldn't she have reverted to that name after her separation? Did she marry someone called Scott?

There are Scott children born in the 1940s with mmn Hammond, in Hull. Did your mother not grow up with her?

Hi Jacqueline,

The best thing to do is to invest in getting her death certificate. It will tell you who registered the death. This could turn out to be a half sibling to your mum

Good Luck

Thank you for all the replies.
Firstly .Veronica left her husband Norman and daughter Yvonne(my mum) when Yvonne.was 18mnths old.My mum never saw her again.Until a site member found the death record Scott for me a few days ago i had been searching for Hammond or Ingram. The death record tallies with all her names Veronica Coralie Estelle as does the D.O.B.I have ordered a copy as suggested to see if it helps with anymore information.
My mother was told that Veronica later had 2 daughters, who would be here half siblings.
Mad Meg do you have any more details on the Hull Scotts.
This would mean so much to my mum after all these years. So thank you all so much for helping.

I will PM Jacqui on the Hull births as they could be living relatives.

Just realised that death record is rubbish, cos Manchester is nowhere near York.

I hadn't noticed that - it is pretty odd. I can't see how anyone could have made the error of placing York in Manchester. Maybe the death certificate will allay our concerns.

I thought that strange too! Unless areas have changed since 1982?
Am now wondering if she was living there or maybe just visiting.
Will death cert show address?

No, York was never in Greater Manchester. It has always been in Yorkshire, hence the name.
