From what i have been told he was in a Barnardos home and chose his name ( but i dont know this to be definate ) he was in the raf in ww2 and came out before the end of the war . From this i am thinking that he might have been injured , but he then went on to do championship ice skating , jumping barrels? if any of this is relevent to you reletives please get back to me .
