Trying to fins children of Ethel Spellward she was born 1915 but do not know married name she had 2 children who were put into care around 1940s they lived in Woolwich London Ethel died around the time they went into care they are my cousins and we are trying to find what happened to them does any one know of them

that is the correct birth but cannot find any other info have no idea who or when she married or what the childrens names was was hoping someone may of known of them

You are fanatstic I think we may have a break through Ethels married name may have been Allen you found a Gloria & Patrica and my sister said these names ring a bell she is 20 years older then me so was born around the same time.

There is a marriage registration for an Ethel J Spellwood to a Leslie G Allen
December 1940 Woolwich 1d 2886

Could her name have been incorrectly entered by the Registrar?

That looks like it is the correct one it is proberly a incorrect spelling of the name as the children match up. Do you know what ethels date of death was it must of been while the children were small

This is such a rare name that I think you are going to have to accept that they changed their first names around, which is not uncommon, the fact that the name edwin doesnt fit in but he is definitely married to Wordley another rare name I think you should buy the certificate , it will name their fathers and possibly have relations as witnesses too.

Spellward as I have found was formed by a Spells/ward marriage and doesnt exixt before that time, so all the spellwards are your family, its just a matter of piecing them together, a brilliant opportinity for a one name study.

To find your cousins needs a look up on marriages from about 20 forwards of their birth.
