Dear Beryl,

Have read your post and tried to get some info on the above, but could only find reference for the 1890's.......your best bet is to contact the village postmaster as has been suggested if anyone knows they should!

What I thought might interest you and your relative is a book called Liverpool to Loggerheads by Lorna Jenner.

It tells the tale of the strong bonds that still exist today between Liverpool and us "wooley hats" here in North Wales, and indeed there are stories from evacuees a plenty, travelling by Crosville Bus and ferry to the "hills" of North Wales...........it is full of splendid old photos and indeed one of a family being "delivered" to their cottage by pony & trap.

Hope you find your cottage still intact.

Hafodlas,
Bryn Saith Marchog,
Corwen
is the correct address you need to search for.

these are in the correct area and it might be that by staying in the area you could visit the house?

and this is the background to the name of the village
http://www.bbc.co.uk/wales/northeast/sites/askalocal/pages/hist49.shtml

this bbc site has pages of local comments,a msg board and a page of local media links. That is probably your best bet.
I do hope you can make her happy by finding it.
