Looking for any Spencer's which originated from the Nottingham area in the 1700's, particularly East Markham. I've managed to trace our line back to John Spencer who was born c1755 married Phoeby Bird (born 1759 in East Markham)on 27 Nov 1781. I can trace the Bird's back to 1715 when Richard Bird married Phoebe Levershall but have no idea where the Spencer's came from. Can anyone point me in the right direction. Any information gratefully received.

Hi
I have just started my tree and can trace my fathers side back to Thomas Spencer, Master Cordwainer, living in Willoughby Notts there is another strand from Retford but not sure they are related. He shows on the 1851 census aged 34 his wife Ann came from Barnstone.
