Find Ancestors

I am trying to find information on Joseph Storey, I haven't got much to go on - his second could name could be Patrick and he was in about 1889 (13 Aug)? - married in the 1st quarter of 1918 at Castle Ward Northumberland, Mary Ellen Lovell (formerly Maylia) both died in 1950. Children were Joseph, Albert, Catherine and Margaret.

Have you looked at the Genes Reunited Search Trees for your ancestors names?

Another GR member may have them in their family tree.

Have you got a copy of the marriage certificate?
This could give some clues to help.

I agree with Elizabeth. If you get his marriage cert you will get his name, age and occupation.Also his fathers name and occupation.
Then you can locate them on the 1911 census

There are 3 Joseph Storey 1887-1890 living in Newcastle area as well as several in Durham and Cumberland so his fathers name is need to find them

Hi,

I have recieved the marriage certificate for Joseph Storey and Mary Ellen Lovell, they married on the 26 Jan 1918 in Gosforth Northumberland, Joseph's dad was John Storey and his mam was Mary Woodall.

On the cert Joseph is down as a Private in the 3rd Battlelion, was 28 when he married and they both lived at 46 Ashfield Road Gosforth. Mary Ellen's dad was Patrick Maylia.

I have looked but cannot find anything on Joseph, except for Family Search which comes up with Joseph having a second name Patrick, on that it shows who he married and when he died.

If anyone can find more details on Joseph please get back.

Marriage certs do not give the name of mother - Scottish ones do - how did you know the name of Mary Woodall

I have researched most of the Storey Family through other family members (my mam's mam was Catherine Storey, Joseph's daughter), but there seems to be a problem with Joseph.

1901 there is this family but no Joseph

Married on 26 Jan 1918 in Castle Ward, Gosforth Northumberland to Mary Ellen Lovell (Widow). He was 28 years old and Mary 34 years old.
