Hi, I'm having trouble tracing back further than my grandfather John James Storey. As far as I know he was born in Newcastle (or thereabouts) in March 1901, he had two sisters, Ada and Ginny (possibly short for Virginia?). He was a painter and decorator and moved down to Southampton in the late 20's to work at the Docks. He married my gran Hilda Helen Ann Dowling in Eastliegh in 1928. They had 7 children including my father Kenneth, most of which settled in the Southampton/Eastliegh area. There is quite a large branch here, 18 in my generation. Would be nice to make a connection with our roots up north. PS Just found out John James also had another sister called Mary and two brothers (don't know names) |
