I'm looking for Emma Eliza Taylor 1835-1855 m 21/04/1851 Parish Church Stepney to Stephen Thomas Woodruff. I don't know where she's born.
Her father is John Taylor a Smith & Farrier on her marriage certificate & it's been signed by Mary Ann Taylor as a witness whom I assume is a sister. I can't find any record of them in 1841 &1851 census. I would like to find any other family including her mother, if anyone could find them I would be most grateful.

It's likely to be a long hunt with a name like Taylor!

Since STW is in Stepney registration district in 1851 just before the marriage, I've had a look for Mary Ann Taylor there. There are 21 but most are wives or too young to be a witness. There is a 13 year old, whose family mostly have two forenames (slightly unusual in 1851) - the father is Stephen, a silversmith. Might be worth following up that family in case they are cousins? Also, I think I have seen others saying that sometimes they have found mothers witnessing the certificate...

I don't know if Stephen & John are cousins because I haven't yet found the family on ancestry, you may be on to something, thanks for looking.

Thanks for your replies everyon, apparently Ancestry found the family for me. Although they were married in Stepney, Emma was born in Twickenham....who knew??? always put in a wider search when looking for ancestors, you never know where they will turn up!!! :-)
