Any information on the following would be gratefullly received!

Henry Taylor, married to Nellie Kirk in October 1909 in Grimsby, we think they only had two children, being Eric Sargeant in 1912 and Walter in 1917(?)

We have the marriage certificate but are having great trouble establishing Henry's father's name. We think it is possibly Thos. (Thomas) who was a bricklayer.

Henry was born in 1884 and Nellie in 1880. The witnesses at the wedding were Sidney Kirk and Emma Cook.

Here's a Tom Taylor who fits the bill in 1881 (the 1881, which is free at Ancestry, can be searched by occupation):

Name: Tom Taylor
Age: 24
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1857
Relation: Boarder
Where born: Bingham, Nottinghamshire, England

Civil Parish: Spittlegate
County/Island: Lincolnshire
Country: England

Street address: 38 Oxford St
Occupation: Bricklayer

Registration district: Grantham

There are indeed only the two Taylor-Kirk births showing at FreeBMD:

I'm afraid I can't find the marriage of Henry Taylor + Nell* Kirk at FreeBMD.

Oh, right, somebody's been mistranscribed. Nellie's alone on her page with another couple, Henry's page number is 13_9.

One thing you could do is correct that entry at FreeBMD and also leave a postem with your email address (you can get an anonymous one at gmail.com to avoid spam / protect privacy), since contact can't be made through FreeBMD directly -- in case someone else is interested in them and might have info to share.

What was Henry's own occupation when he married? He might be identifiable in the 1901 by that info.

Great details, Nicola.

Can you give a link to the source? (Or is that from a parish records CD or some such?)
