I'm looking for Joseph Taylor in the 1841 census for Higham near Barnsley? I would really like to find who he is living with so I'd be very grateful if anyone could help |

If he was c1828 and married Ellen who had a daughter Rhoda, then his marriage cert may give his fathers info. |

That's the problem David, He's just named as an informant on a death certificate, so could be any adult age. I know Taylor is a popular Yorkshire name, but as I read in a book that there were only 67 males in the Higham 1841 census I was hoping he might be the only one called Joseph there. |

This is very close to Higham. Does the age fit for your death cert? Although I've heard of very young people being informants. People had a different attitude to age when you started working at 9 or 10 and died at about 40. |

Thank you Ozibird and David for sending me so much information. I think I'll go with the older Joseph that David found, as he was born in Higham, but I won't discount the 8 year old Ozibird found, as he was born just across the valley from Higham. You've both given me lots of names to follow up, thanks |
