Gertrude Sandells Taylor in Bridgnorth after 1901

Gertrude Sandells Taylor was a general domestic servant born in Bridgnorth, Shropshire circa 1882. In 1904 she had a son out of wedlock (Wyness Max Taylor) with no father listed on the birth cert. I have found in the 1911 census that little seven-year-old Wyness was living with his grandparents (John William and Sarah Taylor) and there is no mention of his mother Gertrude. What happened to her is a complete mystery as I cannot find a death certificate, marriage certificate or any other record for her after 1901.

Can anyone help? It would be much appreciated!

Have you tried a search on this site to see if anyone else is looking for the family - I have an ancestor who used her "husband's" surname, although they were not married

This Gertrude Taylor was a domestic:-

Name: Gertrude Taylor
Birth Date: abt 1881
Age: 31
Port of Departure: New York, New York, United States
Arrival Date: 16 Sep 1912
Port of Arrival: Liverpool, England
Ports of Voyage: Fishguard
Ship Name: Carmania
Search Ship Database: View the 'Carmania' in the 'Passenger Ships and Images' database
Shipping Line: Cunard Line
Official Number: 120901

...........so maybe she never married?

Interesting, but isn't that a ship heading from America to England? Gertrude was born in England.

Thanks

Yes it is a ship arriving from America to England.
The arrival date is the 16th Sep.1912 which means that if this is her then she would probably have been in the States at the time of the 1911 census which could explain why you can't find her.
What you need is a record of her leaving the country but my subscription with ancestry doesn't allow me view these records so unfortunately I can't help you out there. She may also be on the 1910 American census, but there again I can't view this either.
Could be that she left after having her baby and that is why you can't find any trace of her in the English records. If you can't find a marriage or a death for her then, maybe, she was only home for a visit and she went back to America.
There's no proof of course that this is her, but could be worth following up.

There is this record:-

...........this Gertrude S.Taylor is leaving England to go to New York but as I said earlier I don't have World Wide so can't view the details. There are also three other records that could fit.
