I am new to this and the only info I have is his birth date, 26/11/1888, his place of birth, newton-le-Willows (he was registered in Warrington) . His birthcert names him as William Taylor but the copy I have is dated 12/11/1954! His son remebers him as William but also remebers the name john. He was married to Elizabeth Agnes Carlin, born 23/2/1894, also from newton-le-Willows. They had 1 son, William Taylor and his birthdate is 29/2/1924. William Taylor Snr was in the Sth lancs Reg during WW1 and had a horse called billy! Thats all I have to go on. Im looking into this on behalf of William Taylor jnr, known as Bill. Any help is gratefully recieved. Thanks a lot.

If you have his birth cert could you give us the details like parents names .
As Taylor is a common name it is difficult without all the info you have

I cannot find the marriage of an Elizabeth Agnes Carlin to a Taylor

I cannot find the birth of a Taylor mmn Carlin in 1924

Cannot see any likely marriage.

I found her birth, which proves she existed!


I do wonder if in fact the marriage to William or John William was a second marriage, and that she is under her first married name


but I did try to find a first marriage for her, and a marriage for a William Taylor to an Elizabeth A something or other ........ there were far too many plain Elizabeth's
