Trying to find Taylor

Robert Report 15 Sep 2006 11:19

Robert - born 4.11.1931 I am trying to trace details of my paternal grandfather JOSEPH HENRY TAYLOR,together with details of his wife CLARA, his brother,SYDNEY and his nephew KENNETH and any other relatives. Joseph Henry was, I believe, born in Prestwich, Manchester or thereabouts. He married Clara (date not known) and they had two sons, HERBERT (my father) and WILFRED who died in his early thirties. They lived in Countess Lane, Radcliffe, Lancashire until 1956. He had a brother, SYDNEY who lived in Wilmslow,Cheshire and I believe Sydney had at least one son, Kenneth in the same area. My grandfather remarried in about 1955/56, marrying an Elsie Thornley(nee Balmer) in Radcliffe Lancashire. They then lived in Bolton Road, Radcliffe. Joseph Henry was until he retired a Sales Representative for Bellamy and Co.(Bakery suppliers) and I believe his family had been bakers in the Prestwich area. He was a Lancashire County Councillor for a few years representing Radcliffe and he was a former Freemason. Any information about the family would be very much appreciated as, since his remarriage and subsequent death in the late 1950s we have had no communication with his wife or her family.
