Any information on the following Ancestor would be most welcome. Henry Taylor, born 6 June 1850. Wroxton, Oxfordshire. Married 1872 Eliza Beales Wroxton. 1881 census that they were in Deddington, working as Domestic Servants, Housemaid & Gardener. Eliza, died in 1883. No children were shown on 1881 census. I Lost track of him after that, unable to trace him on 1891 or 1901 Census. My father , luckily did mention that he lived in Redhill, Surrey. I managed to trace his death certificate which gave details as follows. Henry died 3 November 1930, at 124 St. John's Road, Redhill. age 80 yrs. A jobbing Gardener. The informant of the death was Sarah B. Taylor, Niece. Who I knew was the wife of his brother Albert Ernest Taylor. So I knew it was the right Henry. I do not know when he moved to Redhill, or whether he had remarried and had a family. I, then looked for further information by looking at the 1929 Electoral Register for 124 St. John's Road, Redhill, Surrey. The occupants were; Henry Taylor, Winifred Taylor, also a family, Harold, & Fanny as well as a William Potter. The 1925, 1927 and 1930 registers shows only Henry Taylor (no Winifred Taylor ) still with the Potter family. I know that it a faint hope but, does anyone know who Winifred Taylor is and whether she was a relation to Henry a daughter perhaps. As Winifred was shown on the Electoral Register she must have been over 21, which was the voting age of that time, other than that I have no idea of how old she was or where she was born, or if even related? . If there are any ancestors or anyone who can remember a Henry Taylor, who was born in Oxfordshire - died Redhill Surrey, I would love to hear from you or them. Many Thank's |
