Hi, I am trying to find a 'someone' Elizabeth Schofield Taylor'. The schofield could be spelt differently. She married a William Teer either in IOM or lancashire. ( between 1854 and 1904 ). Possibly william was first marriage to her. Apparently she came from a ' uppity family' who disapproved of the marriage. Known children are Lilian, Ethel, Jim and Frank ( b. 1904). I suspect that frank was born through a second marriage as his father would have been about fifty when he was born. I am certain that this lady was my husbands great grandmother, as that is all my husbands father can remember. By the time Frank was working ( aged 14) he was living with his elder sister Lillian, who was married by then to a Leonard Smith. William's family came from IOM, and changed the name from Teare to Teer, in the middle of the 1800's. Any thing here ring a bell with someone? Wishing, Jackie |
