CHARLES JACKSON TAYLOR, BORN 1846 CAWTHORPE LINCS. Parents were CharlesTaylor and Susan. Charles Jackson married Mary Ann Tillson/Tilson in Spalding Lincs in 1860 and at the 1861 census the couple were living with his mother in Holbeach Road, Spalding. No other family members were present though Susan's condition was described as "married" . I think the older Charles he may have been a carpenter and that his job involved him travelling around which would explain his absence. There was and is a tradition of carpentry/joinery in the family though I have not found anything other than anecdotal evidence that Charles Jackson was himself a carpenter. Documents suggest his jobs included husbandsman and agricultural labourer. Charles Jackson and Mary Ann had a son William Henry on 30 October 1861, my great grandfather. Then they disappear before the 1871 census. Can anyone throw any further light on where they went, or on any other members of the immediate family? Angela |
