Hi Lynette,

I'm just adding the info from your previous post of 8-1-08:

"jane was married to my great grand father henry lightbown born c 1856 .they then had my grand father joseph taylor lightbown. as far as i know they lived in the stone clough area of kearsley .i am not sure where jane was born. from some information some one has given to me on genes jane passed away around two years after my grand father was born in 1907 if any one has any information about jane i would be very greatful "

Hi Lynette,

I see that Henry was a recent widower on the 1901 census, with children aged 1 to 21.

I wonder if Jane had similarly been widowed?

If you purchase this certificate:

Name: Henry Lightbown
Year of Registration: 1906
Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun
District: Bury
County: Greater Manchester, Lancashire
Volume: 8c
Page: 987

The certificate may give you a father's name for Jane and/or give you information on whether she had previously been married (to try to find her on the census returns). Taylor is not the rarest of surnames!

All the best
