William Donald Thomas b Ceylon abt 1867

Looking for William Donald Thomas (my G grandfather) who came to England between 1881 and 1890 from Ceylon to work in the British newspaper industry as a printer compositor. Lived in East London and Married Maria Louisa Thomas. The family name prior to him living in London was da Silva, they apparently were involved with the Ceylon morning leader and Ceylon Times , had two tea plantations and lived in a house in Ceylon called Pendennis. Can anyone out there help me track him down.

I do not subscribe to the 1901 census, but I have access to the indexes there is a William V Thomas aged 33 born Ceylon occupation pprinter /compositor
Living in St. Leonards Shoreditch.
