Desp trying to find birth information about said person. I am the Grandaughter of Millicent - died 1972 aged 72? She lied about dob and place of birth. I have 7 birth certs - none her. Listed father on Marriage cert as 'Richard Gwynum Thomas' - Coal Miner. Said from Tonypandy??? Millicent moved to Hertfordshire aged 14. Took her secrets to her grave. No living relatives have any information. Would love to have any information. Please help. Thank you

Marriage cert of 1930 says aged 27yrs - which makes dob approx 1903. Death Cert says 1899, Pontypridd, Wales. She never mentioned her age when she was alive, although she looked quite old for her years. I have1903 Birth Cert for Pontypridd (father named as William), Cert 1902 for Neath (father named as James) etc.... None in Tonypandy and none named Richard as Father : EXCEPT 1..... Birth cert for Named Millicent in 1899 father named as Richard (but a Farmer!) and from North Wales (Denbigh) which is out of the question as too far away and fathers wrong occupation. I have checked 1911 census also and no luck. She certainly didnt want to be found. Cant find father on any census' either. Heeelllllp!!!

Forgot witness names on Marriage Cert: (1) Father in Law, (2) Doris Lydia Howell - why would this help?

Hav you discounted the one on the 1901 census??...living in Llanrhaiadr, Denbighshire - Millicent Thomas born circa 1899, father Richard Thomas.
Birth is as follows:-
Millicent Thomas
Year of Registration: 1899
Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun
District: Llanfyllin
County: Denbighshire, Montgomeryshire, Powys
Volume: 11b
Page: 190

Trudie, your comment:-
"and from North Wales (Denbigh) which is out of the question as too far away and fathers wrong occupation"
......there's quite a few years between the marriage and when she was born. People did move back then and they did change occupations just like today - to discount this family for those reasons would not make any sense to me.

I have discounted the link to Denbigh as the Occupation of Farmer and Coal Miner is highly unlikely.

She never mentioned siblings or had any visit.
She left wales at 14yrs to work at 'Clare Hall Hospital' South Mimms as a Domestic Maid and there met and married my grandfather. She had several children before they married. She died in Clare hospital also.

My Grandmother resided in Barnet for some 58 years from when she arrived from Wales to when she died. She only had one person visit her from Wales a handful of times (well dressed person) - but all visits were behind closed doors and never discussed.

I have all the Census' for The Farm in Denbigh - which is still farming today.
