Does anyone know of a Horace Spencer (later known as Thompson) born abt 1886 in Canada (possibly Reading).
He was living in London in 1891 and 1901 with granparents Thompson. Mother's name is recorded as Cornelia Thompson in 1881 and she was later Hazleden in 1891. Suggests possible illegitimate birth?
Horace may even have emigrated to Australia as recent conversations with family members suggest this a possibility but by no means definite. Elder brother appears ot have been George Spencer or Thompson born 1882.

I've never heard of a Reading in Canada. Looking at the 1891 census, grandson George Spencer was born Reading, Bekshire and Horace born Canada.
I don't think Cordelia was their mother, she had 2 children aged 7 and 6 both born Kent, The Spencers are George 9 born Reading and Horace 5 born Canada, and they're not listed with Cordelia's children.
