I'm trying to find ANTONY WILLIAM IAN THOMPSON - know as TONY.

Thought to have been born c 1943, he should be about 67 or 68 by now. Last heard of in Great Yarmouth in 1974, when he was a merchant navy Captain. Appears to have married that same year in Hove, East Sussex.

Thanks

Tony, have you tried Friends Reunited, Facebook or 192.com? His wife (assuming it's his marriage) has a fairly unusual first name so might be worth searching for her also.

Hi Liz,

Yes, this appears to be his marriage, but it is the ONLY thing I can find, ANYWHERE !

Have you tried looking for his wife, using her maiden name on this site? There are several Antony's listed on this site.
They could be on the electoral rolls, but you can tick a box so your details are not on any public sites.

Hi Liz,

I haven't been able to find anything for his wife either. I have tried B's, M's,and D's on various sites, etc, without any success at all, apart from their marriage. I don't know where he was born, so identifying his birth is not proving easy. The only thing in his favour is that his first name is spelt without the usual 'H' - (Anthony) - so it narrows it down by approx. 100:1

But still no joy!

Tony

Have you tried contacting the tree owners on this site with the name in their trees, do you have an old address for him, if so, you could do a street search on friends reunited. If he is not on there, there could be a neighbour listed who would know of him.
His marriage cert. would give you the address of him and his wife when they married.

I sent 'contact' messages several days ago to all the people on this site who have an 'Antony Thompson' in their trees. Waiting to hear back.

As to the address on the marriage certificate - drawn a blank there.

Have you tried 192.com? You originally say he "appeared" to have married, but I assume you have the cert from what you say about the address? It would be good to know what you have tried already.

It doesn't appear that he was born in England/Wales...perhaps he has returned to his birth country?

There is a possible name for his wife (maiden name) in "search trees" on this site,

Liz 47,

Yes, I am in touch off-line with that tree owner - we are both trying to find the same person.

Flick,
I agree, but we have no idea as to his possible birth country.

Tony
