Hi, I am trying to find my Great Grandfather and his parents. My G/grandfathers name was Alexander Thompson, born around 1868 somewhere in England. His parents were William Thompson and Helen/Ellen Innes. Alexander was a bit of a rogue and a drinker, he moved around alot in 1890 he was in Dalry, Ayrshire, in 1893 he was in Muirkirk, Lanarkshire, in 1898 he was in Govan (Glasgow) Lanarkshire, in 1902 he was in Carluke Lanarkshire, after this he moved to Clumpy, Lanarkshire and Westwood, West Calder, West Lothian, in 1917 he lived in Stoneyburn, West Lothian. He lived with my great grandmother Annie McDowall Born 1871 in Shotts Lanarkshire. They had John-James Thompson in 1890, William thomson McDowall in 1891, Robert McDowall in 1893 Emily McDowall in 1896, Nellie McDowall in 1898, Mary McDowall in 1901. They then married on 14/10/1902 and had Alexander Thompson on 31/12/1902, then John Thompson, Cunningham Thompson, Albert Thompson, Polly Thompson and another girl. The family (off spring) all used the name Thomson and most spelt it without a P. He died 25/01/1940 in Stoneyburn, West Lothian. Annie died on 27/02/1940 in Stoneyburn, West Lothian. Any information would be gratefully received.
