Trying to find Thompson

Hi, I am searching for a John Thompson who was born in Madras, India around 1836. I know that he returned to England (don't know when), and lived at 70 Oakley Square, St Pancras, London. His occupation is registered as a Practicioner of medicine. He married a woman called Mary Ann. Do not know her maiden name yet. They had three children that I know of: John, Sarah, and Catherine. Anyway, I am trying to trace his birth in India, and obviously his parents, siblings, and subsequent return to the UK. If anyone has any ideas or knows of a good site that I can use to research this, please let me know. Any assistance would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks in advance Sarah |
