Hope someone can help!! Am looking for any information on WILLIAM WOOD born around 1845 - 1850 supposedly in Cork, Ireland. He moved to London at some point and was a house painter/builder, furniture remover and towards the end of his life served tea to cabbies around the Kings Cross area, having kept horses which he bought from the Household Cavalry. Before he had children with my great grandmother, i believe he was married before and had numerous children with his first wife. He died around 1926, living in Islington. He left behind his wife Jane and 3 small children (my grandfather HARRY, his brother CHARLES and half brother Thomas Anderson). He apparently had a sister or it could have been his daughter CAROLINE WOODwho had a shop in the Kings Cross Area. A name that crops up in family talk is Charles Wood, who took charge of Carolines possesions and possibly Williams after he died. Leaving the family destitute. I can find no trace of Williams marriage to Jane or of his death in the bmd records and have no idea what to do next.
Any suggestions?
If BARRY, PAUL , JEAN OR CAROL WOOD read this notice please get in touch as Harry's side of the family would love to catch up.
