Dear Liz

There certainly are a lot of Thompsons in West Yorkshire!

I must admit your research does look quite a challenge - but I should like to help you if I can although you may have to bear in mind that perhaps I'm getting too old for "challenges" of this sort!!

The marriage details I found after reading your message were as follows:

Marriages Jun 1895
Smith, Eleanor Wharfedale 9a 254
Thompson, William Henry Wharfedale 9a 254

Are these the right people?

I just wondered if you have the 1901 Census which shows William and Eleanor (and 3 of their children - James, Fred, and Alma) living with Eleanor’s parents in Otley.

You probably do have the details but if not I would be pleased to let you have them.

I note that the other children you mention were all (more or less) born "c1900": do you have any further details? If they survived infancy they were probably born after 1901 or, perhaps some of them were with relatives in 1901?

Do you know when Arthur’s son Paul went to Australia and which state he went to? Presumably you do.

Regards

Ivan

Hi Ivan,
thanks for swift reply, yes I do have that info already but nothing else apart from Walter and who he wed[he was my husbands grandfather]
An elderly aunt told me about Paul going to Australia sure she said it was Victoria.
As you can see I havent much else to go on.
I bought William Henry and Eleanors marriage cert but all it gave me as you would expect is Williams father also William and Eleanors father James
Any help you can offer I will be glad to know
regards Liz
