Find Ancestors

am desperately searching for my great great grandfathers marriage certificate to his first wife!

He was Frederick Morris, born 1875/6 in Margate, Kent. His first wife was Henrietta (unknown surname!). They had six children together but i don't know any of their names/DOBs. Henrietta died march 1916 in Margate of TB. It's said that Henrietta seemed to come from a wealthy background (they had servants and nannies, apparently!)
Frederick Morris then remarried in 1917 to Alice Gertrude Bradbear, and they had two daughters, Doris and Irene.

i have been searching for what seems like forever so any help would be greatly appreciated!

i really couldn't tell you i'm afraid! all the info i have is above. The only other thing that might be of use is that my grandfather seems to think her maiden name was Haynes/Haines but i've found no evidence for this!

nope sorry, its all guesswork at the moment!

i'm assuming that the children were all born in Margate (Thanet district) in Kent! Seems they were in margate for Henrietta's recovery from TB for quite a few years.
Henrietta was 38 when she died in March 1916.
Frederick Morris' occupation is noted as Private in the East Kent Regiment or Hotel Waiter (if that's any help!)

thanks linda, but i'm still not entirely convinced that Haynes was her maiden name! Y can't i find a marriage for them if that's the case!

On his second marriage certificate it states he's a widower so i would presume then that there's a marriage record out there somewhere?

Right, got some new info and it seems to tie in...

Found a Henrietta Haynes, born 1879 in Watford, Herts on the 1881 census. Her mother was Martha Haynes born 1846 in Gibraltar and her father is deceased. and they lived in Warwick house in Watford, Hertf and they did indeed have money (the children had a governess and live in nurse!)

so all i need to do now is find her and fred morris' marriage record!!!

or not...have just found fred morris' death record and it states henrietta's surname as haines, so the henrietta above is quite possibly not the correct one!
i now suspect that fred morris was a career soldier in the East Kent Regiment so is this why i can't find him on the 1891 or 1901 census records?
does anyone know where/how to search the military census records? And if frederick and henrietta were married on an army barracks would the marriage still have been registered locally?

any help or pointers would be great, i feel my head is going to explode!

I have found the birth certificate for Frederick Owen Morris 1854 4th Qtr Surrey 1d 440.

Correct! I have searched twice and Frederick still lived with his mum Martha and brother Harry at the time.

I also found this although Frederick C could be Frederick O as it can keyed incorrectly like Morrie instead of Morris.
