It loooks like the grandparents have kept the youngest daughter with them poosibly to look after them. Its a shame they couldn't keep all their grandchildren together. |

thank you chrisa, I appreciate that. Funny though that there is no sign of May. I must say I have searched freebmd and cannot find a birth or a death for a May corby within the relevant years at Newcastle. Ah well, back to the drawing board. Thanks again. |

Thanks a million for that chrisa. How very sad. Mother dies Jan 1901 and that is two children in a waifs and strays home, one in boys orphanage and one on training ship - and all at a relatively young age. Thank you very much. Not sure from info whether this waifs and strays home was in Cullercoats or Whitley. What do you think ? |

I am helping an 86 year old gentleman in Australia with his family tree as from his father backwards, his ancestors came from England. I have his father Richard Wingrove Corby b 1889 and two os his siblings and from that have been able to trace back a generation. To make sure I was indeed on the 'right track' I checked back with the Australian family on the facts I had. I am on the right track BUT I was given the names of three more siblings of Richard Corby. What I have is as follows: |
