I have three marriage certificates where the father's name and occupation have been left blank. On all three occasions the child has been illegitimate, and father, presumably, unknown.

Thanks so much for that you're a star. Bit more advice if you don't mind I have sarah clarks m/c to william patrick but under his fathers name and occupation there is a line through it, does that mean the father is not known or is deceased?
Thanks again.
