I know it's been ages since you put this on here, but didn't your Mum & Dad marry in Donegal, Ireland? Might make a difference when people are looking up marriage records for you.

Hi Diane I've checked 1901 census for you and there is only the one Charles Ward , he maybe Charles born 1916 father but you need to send for certificates to confirm best wishes Margaret

Hi,

Can anyone help, I am trying to trace my dads family,
Here are his details:

Born March 1916
Died March 1984
Born at 18 East Shaw Street
Greenock
Scotland

He married my mum Mary Goff, I think in1957, she was 20 years younger than him.My mum has just passed away this month.

Someone must know what he did before he met my mum as that would make him 40 when they married.

His parents were Charles Ward & Margret Alges, I think my dad was there first born as they only married in the August before he was born.
I know he had a brother Cornelius.

Please any info will do,
