Hi can anyone trace their Jones back to Clifford Haydon 1896 or John Emlyn 1900 born in Newtown North Wales. Believe both moved to Melbourne.

Hi Glyn

Here is what appears to be Clifford's death in Victoria, Australia:

Surname: JONES
Given Names: Clifford Haydn
Father: John Morris
Mother: Ellen THOMAS
Death Place: PARK
Age: 68
Year: 1964
Reg Number: 26330
Event: D

Can't find any marriage or children.

Here is a son to a John Emlyn, dates don't fit though:

Surname: JONES
Given Names: Emlyn Robert
Father: John Emlyn
Mother: Davina MACGREGOR
Death Place: NORT
Age: 86
Year: 1961
Reg Number: 11856
Event: D

This Emlyn Robert was born in Walhalla Vic in 1875. Probably not a match then!

Another John Emlyn JONES came to Victoria aboard Cuzco in Apr 1882 aged 25.

I am surprised to find Emlyn was quite a common given name.

I hope this is some help, I am not related by the way!

Cheers
Cherilyn

Hi thanks for info Clifford looks so close except that the father should be Richard Morris. By coincedence his grandfather was John. The mothers name is correct. He had daughter Dillas who married a Henry ?
He may have fought at Torbruck with Australian army and possibly moved to New Zealand.
John Emyln had son Glyn (not me).My info coming from dad but in drips, thanks again
