Please help with early info on my grandad John James Davies known as Jack. Born in Ireland to father Matthew, John had a sister Anna who married and lived in Liverpool. John James married my grandma Mabel Davies in Colchester in 1905. John was in the army from age 15 and was in WW1, rec'd various medals. We want to find his Irish roots but having difficulty going back before 1905 (not shown in 1901 Census). Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hello! - and thanks for replying....
Don't know which part of Ireland they came from. Anna was slightly younger than John James, don't know year. I understand she married and lived in Liverpool (don't know her married name). I have some info on John's army career & also an old photo showing him very young in a Hussar's uniform. He also served in India (has an 1895 Indian campaign medal). Many thanks for your interest!
