MacmerryLass Report 13 Apr 2008 06:49

Charles was Born 1803, 25 Oct Haddington East Lothian Scotland moved to Camberwell Surrey circa 1845 where he is presumed to have died as Janet returned to Scotland prior to 1861.

1851 St Giles Camberwell, Lambeth Borough, Surrey census has him located at 3 Havil [?] St, He was a baker by trade, and aged 46 in 1851. Wife Janet was 39, daughters Mary Ann 13, Agnes 12, Margaret, 10, Jessie 1 month, Sons Charles 7, Alexander 6. all children born in Scotland except Alexander and Jessie.

I have a record of Janet, Charles and Alexander returning to Scotland prior to 1861, but cannot find what happened to the daughters or Charles senior.

How can I find out when and where he died, where he is buried and what happened to the daughters of the family?

They did not seem to be destitute as Janet came back to live in a rather large house in London Street Edinburgh with son Charles, who is designated a writer in the 1861 Census

Can anyone help please, either with info on this family in England or with procedure to follow next?
