tying to find any information on my stepgrandfather harry davies (but every one called him tom ) he was born 1897 s.wales he was a postman he married my grandmother margaret powell nee mullins in may or june 1940 it states caerleon wales and he died pontypool 1953 at the age of 56 they lived pontypool newbride that part of s.wales can anyone help regards carole

You need to get his marriage cert because that is the only proof you have.

With a difficult name like Davies you have to find him, hopefully with a father with the correct occupation or its only guesswork.

Especially as you say he was called by Tom. Perhaps Tom /Thomas is a middle name/first name
