	Hi Jean , Thank you for message yes it would say it is easily mistranscribed Stanway/Stanley wonder why she is Emma on census and not Emily ? nothing is easy in this game June x

Re the birth certificate to find mothers maiden name. I am in touch with relative in Canada. Her Granddad was William, the child of William and Emma, My Granddad was Alfred also their child. Both have sent for birth cert. Different names. On 1 Emily Stanway, also Emily Stanley. Only 1 marriage. Think one of them transcribed wrong. Doesn't make things easy. Jean.

Also his wife Emma Jackson born c1863 Northwich Cheshire. Her maiden name is probably Emily Stanway, but have also got Emma Stanley. They had 7 sons.
