Buy Janes birth certificate for mums full maiden name. Check out freebmd website (free) to search for the reference and use it to buy the cert for £7 from GRO online. You may even find the marriage of her parents on freebmd as long as it was after Sept 1837 - take it you know the first name of the wife from census info? If you buy the marriage cert you will have info on both fathers of the couple.
