Find Ancestors

I am trying to trace the family of Edward Jones.
I have no dates for him, nor a place!!

The info i have on him is as follows:
He witnessed his daughet Harriet's marriage in 1846, Ardwick, G. Manchester. His profession is a 'Machine Handler' or something similar.

His daughter was born in 1828, so that would put his birth date anywhere between the late 1700s/early 1800s.

Harriet was born in Yorkshire, c1828- possibly Sheffield. He married Charles Kendrick c1828.

They had 6 children, George, 1848, Miriam, 1861, Maria, 1861, John, 1863, Manchester, Alfred (see above), Lucy, 1869, Manchester.

According to 1851, 1861 and 1871 census, Harriett was born in Manchester - where have you had Yorkshire from?

No, Jane died before 1851 and the 1841 census doesn't record place of birth, just whether they were 'of the county' or not.
