My Grt Grt Grt Grandfather William Ritchie, married Jean/Jane Brunton on 3rd January 1829 in Kennoway - Fife.
She had a previous marriage or relationship with a John Hutchison and had a daughter, Jean/Jane Hutchison b. 1823c. She later married William Ritchie & had a son called Robert Butter Ritchie in 1830 in either Kennoway or Markinch. Her parents were Andrew Brunton and Jean/Jane Galloway who married in 1793.I have her marriage banns and her death certificate but not her exact birth details. She died in 1877 aged 82 years, wife of William Ritchie, daughter of Andrew Brunton ( Linen Weaver ) & Jean Galloway. The informant of her death was Philip Imrie, Son-in-Law, husband of Jean/Jane Hutchison. I have a photograph of her headstone at Northall Cemetery in Markinch - Fife, along with her husband William Ritchie, her daughter Jean Hutchison,, her son-in-law Philip Imrie, her daughter-in-Law, Catherine McKenzie, her Son, Robert Ritchie & Robert's second wife, Helen Bell.
Does any of these names ring a bell with you? If so, I would love to hear from you. Another name that has cropped up is Birrell. In the same plot as the above is baby Birrell, child of George Birrell aged 6 months. I would dearly love to know what connection this baby has to the rest of my family buried here.
Can anyone help please?
Regards
Kath
