I am trying to find relatives of my father, Thomas (tommy) Athony Ward born 27/11/1938 in Dublin Ireland, his mothers name was Margaret Ward we have no other info.he went to killkenny convent sch, was then sent to Carriglea, then Upton Industrial Schools only other name we have of his passed, is Mrs McCann who stood for him at his baptismal on 1/12/38. No other info. It seems to be almost impossible to get any info for children who were in these awful industrial Schools (homes). Hope someone knows something.........Thanks Andrea

Hi Andrea

Most people that help out on this site do read all the boards so it is best just to post a request once and on one board only.

The reason for this is because someone may spend time (and money!) looking stuff up for you on this board and then go over to the Records Office board and see that someone else has already found the same information. This is a waste of time and possibly money (if they are using credits to look records up for you).

Hope this explains it a bit.

Hi Sam,

Thankyou for taking the time to explain, I didn't realise but understand now. Have removed other post. Only I did feel previous post was a bit impolite.

Thanks again , I appreciate it.
