Does anyone have any knowledge of a Gervaise Walker born probably ealry 1900's. My Walker relations were from Gloucestershire - St Briavels, so assume that Gervaise was too but not sure, could be Bristol maybe. My Dad spoke of him but I was just a little tacker way back then and didn't retain too much information. Just that he was "Sir" Gervaise. Could be my only claim to fame!!

1970s Politics, Second World War, fly fishing - plenty of interesting background, and the Bristol connection fits

Hope this one is related!

Oh!!! thank you so much Tania and Ivy.
Ivy, your link proved most useful. I think we have him! I have emailed a Walker relative in UK to see if this information can jog any memories for her. If not I have found a birth record for him in freebmd so will order a certificate. OH! Goosepimples! My dad was born 1916 in Monmouth ( his mother was a Walker)so they probably knew each other well.
Thank you so much

Just to let you know, Ivy, that you have indeed revealed our relative Gervase Walker. Freebmd, accumulated pieces of info from various sources, and lastly, a return email from another Walker born relative in UK, have added up to confirm the connection. So sad that he has passed on but there are two sons, and hopefully his wife still alive.
Forever thankful to you
Verity.
