Find Ancestors

On the birth certificate of my ggf Edwin George Cox it states his mothers name is Charlotte Wright it must be the same parents and sister .

But if your GGF was born in 1895 he may not have anything to do with the people living there in 1891 Jill.
May be Edwin Wright died and Charlotte remarried? On his birth certificate, what is the names of his parents given as?


The people in the 1901 have different birth years, different occupation, different places of birth, and an extra son, Walter.

On the 1891 census Edwin Wright and Charlotte Wright and Dorothy was living at 109 Harrow Road Paddington this is the same address where my g g grandfather was born Edwin George Cox 1895 I have that on his birth certificate .In 1901 they was all living at Myrille street.I can not find a marriage.

Well, thats what I think too, so I assumed Jill must have found another family as she says they are at same address? I dont understand this one at all.

We need more imput from Jill on this - what 1891 entry we are talking about.

Sorry, but they are two different families.
In 1901 they live in Harrow Road, Islington
and Edwin is a 51 year old house painter, born Romford
In 1891 Edwin Wright at Myrille St, Paddington, he's the wrong age and he's a refreshment house keeper.

Could you paste the 1891 where you think you found him with Charlotte and Dorothy. The only one I can see with wife Charlotte and daughter is a different man to this chap in the 1901? Born 1856 Riverhead Kent and running a refreshment house? No sign of son Walter? Im sure I must have missed yours - can you give us the one you have found please.

So why does his name change from Wright to Cox? Have you found his marriage?

Where is he in the 1901? And the previous one where you say he had a different name?

Looking for my g g g grandfather born abt 1850 I found him in1891 census as Edwin Wright his partner was Charlotte Elizabeth Wright they had a daughter Dorothy ,they was still at the same address on the 1901 census where his surname this time was Cox my g g grandfather Edwin George Cox there son was born at this address .It states Edwin Cox was born in romford, I can not find him on any other census.
