EDWARD TAYLOR b. abt 1882-1884 Woolwich?

Help, I'm stuck on trying to find birth and mother of EDWARD TAYLOR [no middle name]. I know he married ELLEN BAYNE 9.07.1905 Woolwich, On his marriage cert he is listed as CARMAN as occupation, his father called WILLIAM TAYLOR also listed as CARMAN. When I sent for his possible birth cert [called EDWARD JOHN TAYLOR] 10.08.1883 his parents are listed as; WILLIAM TAYLOR /MARGARET BROOKS, William being a CARMAN, so I thought that was right parents BUT now I find 2 possibilities;

[1.] 1891 census, 5, Meeting House Lane, Woolwich,WILLIAM b. 1857 Plumstead OCC; COAL CARMAN living with MARGARET b. 1863 Plumstead EDWARD TAYLOR b. 1884 Plumstead and other family members

[2]. 1901 census 3 Albert House, Woolwich, WILLIAM TAYLOR b. 1858 Plumstead OCC; CARMAN BOROUGH COUNCIL living with MARY b. 1866 EDWARD TAYLOR b. 1884 Plumstead .

Problem is; both DAD'S ARE CARMAN, BOTH EDWARDS BORN PLUMSTEAD born about the right year,how do I know which is the correct one ???

No not same family. Even children are wrong. Oh well, back to the drawing board, It's just doing my head in as I can't seem to go forward !
