Find Ancestors

Thanks, I had found that samuel and emily and have wondered if it were him. He seems to have had children with Pauline quite late in life, so I have wondered if there were an earlier wife.

The strange things is that I can't find a likely trace on his children. I have a "Margaretta", the only one born in the same year as mine, but her certificate is down as being recorded in Newcastle, and I have her down on the census as being born in London. Equally have no trace on her sister Pauline (and didn't bother with brother William as too common a name).

Guess, I'll have to try and trace Emily and see if there is a death cert and also get the certificate for the Margaretta I have found.

I'm really keen to trace my ggrandmother as I'm curious about the Swiss side! I am fairly certain that they didn't marry abroad, it just doesn't kind of feel right (although that is nothing to go by in genealogy! lol) and again, wouldn't be able to trace it withouth knowing more info about her. Unfortunately, there is no-one to ask really as my dad didn't know his dad (a younger brother born in 1908), although his gran was active in his life. I have one other avenue to try and follow-up and that is that they both worked in the Royal Household, as groomsman and seamstress, so guess its time to follow that up.

I am trying to find the marriage certificate of my ggrandfather. He was born in Kingston in 1860. I have a trace on him and his family in the 1901 census, where his wife is named as Pauline Maria, who was born in Geneva, Switzerland. I do not know her surname (which is what I want to find). The young family came from Kingston and lived for as far back as I can trace, so don't think that he (Samuel) would have married any further afield than London (and that is where the family settled). Their eldest child (William) was born in 1895 and I have looked through indexes from 1890 to end 1897 but can't find anything that looks remotely possible. Any help gratefully received. Thanks Melissa
